Microwave

  1. Ratio is 1:1.5 Place 1 cup of jasmine rice and 1½ cups of water into a microwave-safe bowl and cover with a vented lid.
  2. Microwave on high for 5 minutes, and then reduce to medium power for 10 minutes.
  3. After the cooking time is over, let the jasmine rice sit in the closed microwave for 10 minutes before fluffing with a fork and serving.

Instant pot

  1. Ratio is 2:2 put 2 cups of water and 2 cups rice into the instant pot.
  2. Cook on high pressure for 4 minutes.
  3. Natural release for 10 minutes once cooking is done.
  4. Fluf with a fork and serve.

Stovetop cooking

  1. No rinsing – if you use 1 1/4 cups of water for every 1 cup of jasmine rice, your rice will be fluffy even without rinsing.
  2. Rapid Simmer – Put water and rice in a saucepan, bring to simmer on high heat as fast as you can. You want the whole surface to be rippling, the edges bubbling and white foam
  3. Cover and turn to LOW – Turn heat down and cover, cook 12 minutes.
  4. Stand 10 minutes to let the rice finish cooking.
  5. Fluff! Use a rubber spatula or rice paddle – this stops the grains breaking
